You may have to install the driver twice..... it’s a window issue, but just fallow the directions on the screen... if you get another pop up saying that its has found new hardware and that you need to install the software again... its normal.

Next will be to configure the UIC for RSLinx this will be used for a 5/00, 5/01, 5/02 and 5/03 via the USB port on your PC, you will need a newer version of RSlinx

If you have not done so.... Click on the link and download

http://www.rockwellautomation.com/support/webupdates/

You will need to register but the download is free RSLinx lite, below you will find the one that I am using

9355WAB100ENE 2.54.00 General Release

Open RSLinx and add DH485 UIC devices

Find your USB port that your PC is using, you can do this by clicking on your Windows Start then Control Panel, now open the System folder and open the hardware tab, clickon Device manager and scroll down to Ports (COM & LPT) and click the + sign... mine shows up as USB Serial Port (Com 8) yours may be the same or NOT.

If you unplug your cable and plug it into a different port on your PC you may get another number so use the same port when possible or fallow the above to find our what port your adapter is assigned.

After selecting the correct port you should be able to see your PLC active in RSWho

We always test every cable with the above procedure before we ship them out... and as with all of the items we sell, they have a 30 day money back guarantee.

Below you will find the setup for the RS232 side of the adapter

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AUTO CONFIGURE WILL NOT WORK (same as the 1747-UIC from Allen Bradley)

Stop the UIC and add a RS232- DF1 driver, you will also need to move the switch on  the side of the cable adapter from DH to RS232
